A reading step by step

Try this example with changing lines: enter 6, 7, 8, 8, 8, 7 from bottom to top. Line 1 changes. Nine is changing yang and six is changing yin; seven and eight remain stable. Open the reading to follow the initial hexagram into the relating one.

  • Initial figure · 4 · Meng: Learning through questions requires naming a specific uncertainty.
  • Related figure · 41 · Sun: Thoughtful reduction retains essentials while removing extras.

History and inspiration

The sixty-four hexagrams combine six solid or broken lines, read from bottom to top. Each entry presents the figure and a contemporary reading of its themes. In a consultation, stable and changing lines connect the primary and relating hexagrams; your result keeps that sequence.
